The
Conservation Committee received another report yesterday that
read, "Last night another tree has been damaged due to very
heavy rains and strong winds. Local officials want to know
how many trees they will need to plant to replace the old
tree." They need your help!
The old
tree had a diameter half the length of the diameter from the
previous case. Use what you learned about changing the dimensions
of circles to respond to the questions they asked:
1) "If we use the circumference method, how many new trees
do we need to plant?"
2) "If we use the area method, how many new trees do we need
to plant?"
Note:
Use the "New Report" worksheet to send your response to local
officials. |
