2. Erick, a well-known artist, needs to make an advertisement logo on a wall. The logo has a yellow background and is in the shape of a parallelogram, as shown here:

Note: On a Geoboard, the distance between 2 red pegs is equal to 1 unit length or 1 unit width. In this case, 1 unit = 1 inch

To buy the correct amount of yellow paint, Erick needs to know how much space he will paint in yellow. Therefore, he needs to find the area of this parallelogram.

  1. Copy the parallelogram on the geoboard.
  2. Use as many other rubber bands as you need to help you measure the total area. Record the area on your worksheet.
